Create a new cultural lighthouse with us!
The Richard Wagner Museum is for Bayreuth the showpiece of supra-regional, even international importance. A visit of the museum is for the most spectators of the Bayreuth Festival an integral part of their stay. Wagner’s authentic place of residence is a central touristic target even out of the festival period. A new construction of the museum and modern depot are planned to be opened at Richard Wagner’s 200th birthday. We follow Richard Wagner’s forward-looking demand: „Kids, make something new!“ with the common mission of transfer, research and visualization of our cultural roots.
A modern depot building with safety deposit box according to the international technical and conservatory requirements will be required for a sustainable and lasting protection, conservation and
storage of precious objects and unique documents as Wagner’s scores, handwritings or letters. With that the important international scientific research of Richard Wagner’s life and
works will be guaranteed for the next generations of scientists.

Offers within the Scope of the New Construction Campaign
There is the opportunity to participate in sections of the new construction of the museum within the scope of the new construction campaign. So you can take over a patronage for sections of the future new museum as e. g. the entrance area or single architectural or design elements according to the financial involvement and interest.
The considerations for a contribution to the new construction of the Richard Wagner Museum are manifold and of a high idealistic value. The donators will receive, according to the amount of the sponsorship sum, a “Patronage Certificate” designed according to the historic example, nameplates at the rooms or objects supported by them as well as exclusive invitations to events. Eventually every donator will receive a letter of thanks and of course a tax deductable donation receipt by us.

The composer Richard Wagner issued patronage certificates for the financing of his dream of a festival in Bayreuth in the middle of the famous stock exchange and establishment boom of the years 1870 to 1873. The stage festival performance “The Ring of the Nibelung” had its premiere in the festival theater of Bayreuth, especially constructed for this, on 13 August 1878. Now you will have the opportunity of supporting the project for the conservation and the reorganization of the Richard Wagner Museum in the Wahnfried House by means of the purchase of a patronage certificate especially new issued for that reason.
